1. About the service

HostCompass lets vacation rental hosts create, edit and publish digital guidebooks for their guests. The service includes, among other features, customizable templates, publishing via link and QR code, and usage analytics.

2. Account and registration

You need an account to create and manage guides. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. If you detect unauthorized use, notify us immediately.

3. Acceptable use

When using HostCompass you agree not to:

• Publish illegal, defamatory, misleading or offensive content.
• Infringe third-party intellectual property, image or privacy rights.
• Attempt to access other users' accounts, systems or data without authorization.
• Use the service to distribute spam, malware or any harmful content.
• Resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the service without our express authorization.

4. Host content

You retain ownership of all content you upload to your guides (text, images and other materials). By publishing it, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to host, process and display it to your guests as part of the service.

You are solely responsible for holding the necessary rights to the content you publish and for its compliance with applicable law.

5. Published guides and guests

Published guides are publicly accessible through their link. Guests always see the latest published version, never the draft being edited. As a host, you are responsible for the accuracy and currency of the information in your guides (access instructions, house rules, emergency numbers, etc.).

6. Plans and payments

Some features may require a paid subscription. Prices and conditions are shown before you subscribe. Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically and you can cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current period. Price changes will be communicated with reasonable notice.

7. Intellectual property

The platform, its software, design, brand and logos are the property of HostCompass or its licensors. These terms do not grant you any rights over them beyond using the service as set out here.

8. Availability and changes to the service

We strive to keep the service continuously available, but interruptions may occur due to maintenance, updates or causes beyond our control. We may modify, add or remove features; if a change substantially affects paid features, we will let you know.

9. Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, HostCompass shall not be liable for indirect damages, data loss, lost profits or harm arising from the use of or inability to use the service, including information shown to guests through guides.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with prior notice where reasonably possible.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes in the service or in regulations. The current version will always be published on this page with its update date. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance.
